HEALTH MINISTRIES
The Health Ministry Department of the Mamre S. D. A. Church is integral to the church and the community. It is
considered to be the right arm of the gospel. Mamre's Health Ministry Department is committed to educating its
members and the community on the value of having premium health by focusing on prevention, restoration, and
follow-up programs. With the assistance of the Wild Wood School of Medical Missionaries, the ministry has
taught the eight laws of health given by God: Nutrition, Exercise, Water, Sunshine, Air, Rest, Temperance, and
Trust in God.
The Health Ministry presents health education on the second Sabbath of each month: "Know your numbers"
and talks on topics such as asthma, diabetes, nutrition, heart disease, hypertension, and obesity.
During the last several years, the Health Department has hosted successful health fairs in collaboration with many
community partnerships: The Brooklyn Hospital Center (TBHC); Health Plus; The American Cancer Society; New York State Department of Health; Social Service Administration, Diabetes Association; New York State Fire Department; and the Caribbean American Health Association.
These community partners have provided health services for diabetes care, blood pressure and cholesterol checks, PSA, mammogram, prostate screening, podiatry, and HIV health care, as well as access to FREE and affordable health insurance: Child Health Plus, Medicaid, Essential Plan, and Quality Health Plans. To apply, you can contact our resident NYSOH Senior Navigator—Program Enrollment Coordinator, Michael Hutchinson, at 929-271-4434.
Mamre Health Department, with a team of over forty (40) health professionals, will continue to guide the church and the community to prosper and be in good health, all to the glory of God.
